For Players and Parents
If you’re more of a visual learner, you might want to check out our getting started with TeamSnap video.
Step 1: Pinch yourself. This is really happening!
Step 2: Accept Your Invitation
Go to your email and find the TeamSnap invitation from your coach or team manager. Click the blue "Join Now!" button.
If you’ve been invited to your team but can’t find the invitation email, click here and we’ll help you track it down.
Step 3: Enter a Username and Password
Here’s where you create a brand new password for your TeamSnap account. Scroll down and click the blue “Continue” button in the lower right-hand corner when you’re ready.
If you already have a TeamSnap account associated with a different email address, you’ll want to click the “Switch Account” button to log in with that account.
Step 4: Who Are You?
If you’re the player who’s signing up for the team, just click “Yes” on this screen and you’ll be set.
If you’re accepting the invitation on behalf of the player, probably because you’re a parent or guardian, go ahead and answer “No,” then enter your name and your relationship to the player.
Step 5: Enter a Phone Number
Here’s the place to enter your mobile number. Though not mandatory, we recommend doing this so that it’s even easier for your teammates to get in touch with you in a pinch.
Pro Tip: If you don’t want to share your number with teammates, make sure to check the box next to “Make Private.” Coaches and team managers will always be able to see phone numbers regardless of whether or not this box is checked.
Step 6: Add Family Members
If you want mom, dad, grandparents or anyone else to have access to your account, now’s the time to add them. Just enter all the necessary information for that person, especially an email address. They’ll receive an email to join TeamSnap, just like you did.
Step 7: Set Your Game and Event Notification Preferences
Here’s where you can set your preferences for how you'd like to receive alerts. We recommend leaving the settings as they are, but you can always change things like how far in advance you receive game reminders.
Step 8: Download the TeamSnap Mobile App
3 Things to Know:
Make Sure to Update Your Availability
A few days before each game, you’ll get an email asking you if you’re available or not. Make sure to click “Yes,” “No,” or “Maybe” so your coach has an accurate headcount for the game.
Note: This feature is only available on our paid plans. If you’re on the Free plan, you’ll have to upgrade in order to get it.
Check for Volunteer Tasks
Head over to the Assignments tab and look at available assignments for your games. When you find one you’d like to claim, just click the “Sign Up” button next to that task!
