How to Set Up Social Media Feeds on Your Website

Display your latest social media content directly on your website using SmashBalloon. This guide walks you through setting up feeds for Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Facebook Feed Setup

Connecting Your Facebook Page

  1. Navigate to Facebook Feed in your WordPress menu
  2. Click on All Feeds and then Add new
  3. Select User Timeline and click Next
  4. Click Add New to connect a source
  5. Choose the Type of source and click Connect
  6. Log in to Facebook if prompted
  7. Select the pages you want to display and click Next
    • Note: Select ALL pages on this screen to authorize the Access Token
  8. Review the permissions and click Done, then OK
  9. From the list of Facebook pages, select your desired page and click Add

Creating and Adding Your Feed

  1. Give your feed a name and customize it using the available options
  2. Click Save when you're satisfied with the settings
  3. Click the Embed button and copy the shortcode
  4. Add the shortcode to any page, post, or widget where you want the feed to appear
  5. To edit your feed later, go to All Feeds and click the Edit button

Instagram Feed Setup

Connecting Your Instagram Account

  1. Click on All Feeds and then Add new
  2. Select User Timeline and click Next
  3. Click Add Source
  4. Select Add New
  5. Choose your account Type (Personal or Business) and click Connect
  6. Log in to Instagram (for Personal) or Facebook (for Business) when prompted
  7. For Business profiles, select the connected Facebook page and click Add

  1. Name your feed and customize it with the available options
  2. Click Save when you're done customizing
  3. Click the Embed button and copy the shortcode
  4. Add the shortcode to any page, post, or widget
  5. To edit your feed later, go to All Feeds and click the Edit button

YouTube Feed Setup

Connecting Your YouTube Channel

  1. Navigate to Feeds for YouTube in your WordPress menu
  2. Click on All Feeds and then Add new
  3. Select your preferred Feed Type and click Next
  4. Enter your YouTube API key
    • If you don't have an API key, follow the guide on SmashBalloon's website
  5. Enter your Channel ID and click Next
